Tom Crowder Jr, of Warm Springs, GA died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in Manchester, from injuries received in an automobile accident.  A Native American Celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, at his home.

Tom was the son of Thomas A. Crowder. Sr. and Lucy Butts Crowder.  He was a retired Conductor of the CSX Railroad and was a member of the United Transportation Union, and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Durand, GA.

Tom was very active in the Cub and Boy Scouts of America for 25 years, becoming a Scout Master, and a member of the Order of the Arrow.  He was also a member of the Native American Cultural Society and served as a Sergeant in the Unites States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy McKay Crowder of Warm Springs, his children, John (Tammy) Crowder of Warm Springs, Chris (Michelle) Hotard of Pine Mountain Valley, Jeff Hotard of Warm Springs, Charlene (Andy) Dickens of Andersonville, GA, Master Sergeant, USAF, Charles Dennis (Casie) Crowder of Sumter, SC, Mark (Marianne) Crowder of Pine Mountain, two sisters, Linda Meyers and Cynthia Adams, Brother-in-Law, John McKay, all of Warm Springs, and sixteen grandchildren.

Tom was a long time member of The Clan Mackay Society of the U.S.A. and always assisting at Clan functions throughout Georgia as well as the Highland Games at Grandfather Mt. NC.  Skilled in leather and walking stick crafts, he always made items for the Mackay members.  Every year he would set up his own tent as a shelter for the annual Mackay picnic at the Stone Mountain, GA Highland Games.

He will be missed by many friends and Mackay members throughout the South East United States.
