Last August Denise and I were invited to attend the inauguration for Aeneas Mackay, 15th hereditary Lord Reay and 29th Chief of Mackay. On Friday, after a hurried trip North from Inverness, Denise and I arrived in Tongue at our hotel in time to check-in, bags delivered to our room, no lift, and for me, drive back to Betty Hill for the rehearsal.
Arrived back in Betty Hill, parked and rushed over to the church yard to join the group which had begun going over the order of service. Lord Reay greeted me as I walked up. From there on thiings for me began to relax and I felt more relaxed.
This occasion was not as formal as the first time I met him. The next day was a bit more formal and so good to everyone in their Scottish formal attire. The photo above was taken after the service and was the first time I had met their children. Left to right is Henry, Mia, Lady Reay; Lord Reay, Alexander, Master of Reay; and Iona.
